Dr Sunita Dube, MedscapeIndia, Fit India 2.0 Conclave to Strengthen Preventive Healthcare and Doctor Safety

New Delhi, June 30, 2026: Addressing the growing concern over violence against doctors and healthcare professionals, Dr Sunita Dube, Chairperson, MedscapeIndia, will release a landmark White Paper titled “Prevention of Assault on Healthcare Professionals” and launch the National Healthcare Safety Red Alert & De-escalation System during the 9th Fit India National Doctors’ Day Conclave 2026, to be held on July 1 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.

Developed in knowledge partnership with Grant Thornton Bharat, the White Paper presents evidence-based recommendations to strengthen the safety, dignity and well-being of healthcare professionals through policy reforms, institutional preparedness, enhanced communication and technology-enabled emergency response.

The White Paper and the MedscapeIndia’s initiative National Healthcare Safety Red Alert & De-escalation System will be unveiled in the presence of Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare; Shri Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment; Dr. Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry; and Dr. Harsh Vardhan, former Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, along with Members of Parliament, healthcare policymakers, presidents of national medical associations, hospital leaders, academicians and public health experts.

The conclave will also witness the launch of several flagship national initiatives, including the Bharat Lifesaver Mission, Medical Sainik – Counsellor & 360° Healthcare Support Network, TARA Cancer Initiative, the MedscapeIndia Healthcare Declaration, and a National Signature Ceremony, where healthcare leaders from across the country will pledge their commitment to preventive healthcare, CPR literacy, healthcare safety and citizen empowerment.

Another major highlight of the conclave will be the celebration of 12 years of the Train India – Train the Trainer CPR Programme, through which more than 2.5 million citizens have been trained in lifesaving CPR since 2014. Building on this achievement, the movement has set an ambitious goal of increasing CPR literacy in India from nearly 2 per cent to 25 per cent by 2030, supporting the vision of making India the World’s First Lifesaver Nation.

The conclave marks 21 years of MedscapeIndia Foundation and 12 years of the Fit India Healthcare Movement, bringing together more than 500 healthcare leaders and representatives from over 58 national medical associations under the theme “Healthcare Reimagined – Research, Innovation, Prevention & Nation Building.”

Inviting the media to cover the event, Dr. Sunita Dube, Chairperson, MedscapeIndia Medical Education Trust, said the conclave would serve as a national platform to advance the dialogue on preventive healthcare, healthcare worker safety and citizen empowerment.

“The White Paper is a call for collective action to protect those who protect society. Along with the Fit India 2.0 movement, it reflects our commitment to building a prevention-led healthcare ecosystem where healthcare professionals work with dignity and safety, and every citizen is empowered to contribute to a healthier India,” she said.
